Anti-condensation Heaters
Condensation inside electrical enclosures poses a serious threat to sensitive equipment by causing water droplets that can lead to short-circuits, corrosion, and component failure. This typically occurs when temperature fluctuations and high humidity cause water vapour to condense on the coldest surfaces, often metallic parts, due to their efficient heat dissipation. To address this issue, IP Enclosures offers a comprehensive range of anti-condensation heaters designed to maintain internal temperatures above the dew point, preventing moisture accumulation and ensuring equipment reliability.
The heater lineup includes compact models ranging from 25W to 150W for smaller enclosures, as well as fan-assisted heaters with outputs between 150W and 750W for larger enclosures requiring uniform heat distribution. Many models feature integrated thermostats that monitor temperature, activating the heater only when necessary to optimise energy consumption. Additional options include heaters with safety touch shields and various power supply configurations such as 230V AC and 24V DC.
For optimal efficiency, heaters should be installed approximately 100mm from the enclosure floor and 50mm from the sides, allowing natural convection to distribute heat evenly. Fan-assisted heaters are recommended for larger enclosures to eliminate cold spots and maintain consistent internal temperatures. Controlled by thermostats or hygrostats, these systems reliably prevent condensation formation while minimising energy use, protecting electrical components in diverse industrial and outdoor applications.
